The order for 2 UNC-W ASE just delayed AGAIN to 12/25. Now we darn well know that no one is working on the mint on Christmas day. We need to get a customer service rep here on the forums..... EDIT: My 3 coin ASE sets where ordered in October and still say "Expected to ship 12/8/06". My San Fransisco Commemorative, which was ordered after the Dec 1st guarantee, is "In Stock and Reserved". WTH is going on, why can't they get the coins out the door? Edited by RangerXLT8 12/13/2006 9:15 pm

I wonder whether something to do checking our records. The patriat Act needs our names for buying coin price less than two time of spot.

So your saying since we are buying bullion, they need our names... What do they think we are gonna do throw gold bullion coins at people to bring harm? My dad is a retired LT. Colonel form the MArine Corps and has an impeccable record, and his ASE sets, ordered in October, still say 12/8/06.

If we buy anything in silver or gold and if the price in less than two time of melt (silver at $14 and Gold at $630 per Oz), then the dealer (including Mint) should record our names, etc to Homeland Dept. Since UNC-W ($19) is less than that, Mint should record names, I think.

You should buy in Europe Here we record your name if you pay morethen 80% over spot or melt since then you have to pay taxes on your purchase

Is the mint always this messed up? In the past I have ordered nothing but silver sets and have not really paid much attention to the mint's follow through. Now that I am actively collecting I pay attention to the detail (i.e. ship dates, stock) and it seems that the whole process is pretty messed up. Has it always been like this? Just curious because it is a bit frustrating.

I'm sure a lot of shoppers are ordering gift items and the mint is dealing with the volume inefficiently. They should be processing "first in, first out," my guess is they've got that reversed.

I have spoken to customer service at the mint twice this week about my ASE Proof set. It was scheduled to ship on 12/08/06. The customer service rep basicly told me that they are not being given any information about how the ASE sets are being shipped. She said but from what they have been able to figure out on there own is that the mint is running behind on shipping and that currently they are shipping out orders received in the middle of October. She said they where told that the mint is not going to keep updating the shipping dates. She told me that if I don't receive it in a week or so to call back.

I ordered 3 pieces (2 SF Mint proofs and a 1/10th eagle) on 11-23 and got them last week. Sounds like the mint could use a good manager.

I ordered my (4) "W" ASE's on Oct. 16 and now I've been shoved back again till 12/25. Pretty much rules out that guess! As usual, the mint could care less about their customers even during the holidays.

I still believe that if you are going to tell one, then make it big enough and your almost guaranteed that someone will believe it!

I ordered the ASE 20th set and an 11-coin proof collector's box back in the day. At the time, the status of both was "backordered. Expected to ship on 12/8/2006." Three weeks ago, the status for the box slipped by a day. Since then, every single day the expected ship date for the box is incrimented by a day. It now shows "1 unit backordered. Expected to ship on 12/29/2006." The ASE set status never changed and still showed an expected ship date of 12/8 as of this morning. However, just now, I checked again the the status has changed to "1 unit backordered. Expected to ship on 12/22/2006."

Someone told me that you cannot buy individual coins from the Mint and that you have to buy in quantity. Is that true?

Expected to ship is better than "Line item cancelled." Which one of my orders was cancelled.
