It is indeed a replica Roman coin. The original coin it was copied from is a scarce and highly sought after denarius of emperor Claudius, commemorating his conquest of Britain. See some originals on this Wildwinds page.
Unfortunately, I can guarantee that yours is a replica. The little "WRL" counterstamp below-left of the arch on the reverse is the mark of Westair Reproductions Limited, a British replica-maker. Their replica ancient and mediaeval coins are sold in museums and tourist traps all over Britain.
