Hey Everyone,

I have come across this medallion in my late grandfathers coin collection and am just wondering if anyone can tell me anything about it ? I can't seem to find any reference on the net to it. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Ashley

It's from the Metropolitan Coin Club of Sydney. The club is still around, though it doesn't have a website. Their contact details are on the NAA website.

I suspect the medal is a "generic" award medal they give out on all sorts of occasions, engraving the reverse as needed for each occasion. As such, it probably isn't scarce, at least within the club.

Thank you so much Sap, this would make perfect sense as he lived in Sydney for many many years .... Now to sift through the large box of coins he left behind ...
