Odd Duit Coin Has Me Stumped! | Coin Weight

Found this the other day. Front suggests happily that it's a George III coin. Back says "Duits Gr 5..6" and is countermarked with a vase stamp.

Dia 19.5mm, thickness 3.6mm, weight about 8.5g

Plenty of VOC Duit pictures about but I can't locate anything even remotely like this with any amount of Google trawling.

Anyone have a clue?

What you have is a coin weight. More specifically a weight for a golden guinea minted up until 1st January 1772. 5.6 stands for 5 pennyweights (dwts) and 6 grains (gr) which should equal 8.1 grams.

I've just noticed that this has a Ewer stamp which indicates that as per act of parliament in 1775 all weights had to be checked. The Ewer is the mark of the Founder's Company to be used within a 3 mile radius of the City of London.
This is all stuff which I've only learned myself within the last three days.
