Picked this up for my set. I am curious about the bell lines, so if you can comment on what makes or breaks the designation using this coin, that would be helpful to my education! Thanks in advance!

MS65FBL. I have a hard enough time understanding the term myself, but I take it to mean all 11 lines. The 3 wider bands plus the 4 lines near the top of the crack + the 2 wider bands and 2 lines on the lower part of the crack. Someone said the PCGS and NGC view them differently, one using the upper lines only, and the other uses the upper and lower. I'm still confused, maybe someone can clarify it once and for all.

Good question! I could certainly see 66, maybe FBL. A real beauty!

Interested in hearing what the Franklin experts think on this one. I see a MS65, but not FBL due to the small nicks on the left of the bell line.

A few obverse distractions might keep it out of the 65 camp. not quite FBL ,the lines at very bottom of bell must be fully split with no interuptions .

MS 65. Pretty good strike. The weakness shown on the bottom set of bands to the right is a trick of the photo I think. However, the lines cannot be interrupted. If that vertical hit is not as pronounced in hand, then if gets FBL from me. But if it is obvious, then it is a well struck ms65 in my mind.

It would have a better shot at PCGS than NGC if you are trying to sneak it in as FBL coin.

It is already in it's place in my Dansco, no grading for me yet. I do appreciate everyone's thoughts though. I have learned so much since I found this site 6 months ago.

I am not anybody's expert but I have completed a raw set in this grade or better.
I would pay 64 money but no Bell Lines.

In my opinion they fade away
@ edweather I doubt anyone will ever settle the issue once and for all as even the best TPG are inconsistant with the designation.
It is a nice coin and I would not be sorry to own it.
