Hey guys, been a while since I have posted here. I've been looking to sell some more coins lately so I wanted some expert opinions on grades again (if you don't mind).

I have about 11 Peace dollars left. I've only taken a pic of one so far, but I'll update as I have more free time. The detail on this one really caught my eye -- however, I'm a rookie, so that's not saying much hah. Hopefully that flash wasn't too much.

Thanks for the replies! I was worried that my pics made it look like it was polished. Not quite sure the best way to photograph my coins as I don't have great lighting. When I use the flash on my phone, the above pic is the result. It really doesn't look polished in person, at least I don't think. The detail itself is what caught my eye. But maybe not =/

If you are going to show it/sell it online the viewers won't see it "in hand".
They'll see your picture -- and it's not good.
Plus I doubt they'll take your word for it ("It really doesn't look polished in person ....")
Start thinking about upgrading your imaging capability.

my first question is what color was your background?
My guess is it was not black.

One of the few good things about digital photography is you do not burn expensive film trying to get it right. So take some pics of the background only, adjusting the light until you get the pic matching the color and texture. Then add the coin and adjust until that looks right.

Well then I guess that it is harshly cleaned...( with my batting average on this thread that would mean it is a nice original coin) I hope it is!

If you buy 1921, 28, or 34-S don't buy them raw from ebay. Maybe you can buy them raw from your primary coin dealer. There are only about three or four Peace dollars that are scarce. I would buy them in as good a condition as I could afford and just get the others in AU.
