But in this case, I think I see the suggestions of cameo left on this coin. Below I've improved the contrast of the photo somewhat--look at the reflective quality of the bust vs. fields. Calvab New Member United States 12 Posts	Posted 02/24/2017 12:58 am ok - I did the tissue test... the coin of interest is third from the top (top two are 40%, bottom four are clad)... it appears to be clad: So, I broke the rules, with a soft cloth, I rubbed the coin a little... sure enough, it was covered with grease... It is definitely a clad proof!! I didn't rub off all of the grease... I didn't want to scratch the surface. Thanks all for weighing in! Calvab New Member United States 12 Posts	Posted 02/24/2017 9:22 pm I was really surprised how much the grease/haze made the coin look like a business strike. My Dad took this coin out of circulation in the late 1970's... it couldn't have been in the wild for more than a couple of years. Any chance this could have come from the mint this way?
