simchaj New Member United States 2 Posts	Posted 07/10/2017 10:46 am Hi. New member here. I purchased this shekel of Tyre from a seller on Vcoins. I don't plan on selling it so I don't need a letter of certification, but I would like to know if it is authentic without spending $50-$100. It is 20mm and weighs 6.67 grams. BigSilver Pillar of the Community United States 2843 Posts	Posted 07/10/2017 11:30 am I dont know much about these, but the weight is not consistent with that of a shekel. A shekel was also a tetradrachm of 4 drachmas and should weigh approx 14 grams. This coin would be consistent with the weight of a didrachm - or 2 drachmas, but the design does not seem to match. I believe that vcoins is a reliable source, so don't take my word for it, but further research would be advisable. Report this Post to the Staff

The half shekel denomination is more scarce than full Shekels. Report this Post to the Staff
