AR15DCM New Member United States 12 Posts	Posted 03/23/2018 5:03 pm Hello everyone !, I know there are double die's and machine doubles etc... But has anyone run across a triple strike? Would this be considered a mechanical strike or a triple die strike? I am still unsure about DD vs. Mech Die strike. Logically if the machine/die strikes a coin more than once its a....? This penny is from one of my 1955 Proof Sets. There is a negative pic that may make it easier to see the tripling. What does everyone think? coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/23/2018 8:53 pm The business strike cents are only struck one. The Machine Doubling damaged them after the strike. Note a doubled die. Just machine movement after the strike. Proof coins are struck twice. They can alter the devices after these strikes. coop Bedrock of the Community United States 62064 Posts	Posted 03/26/2018 11:05 pm Single strike. Two direction movement of the die after the strike. Machine caused the damage to these devices. A little bit of push doubling: While this type of MD does enlarge the devices a bit, they are not hub doubled. They are pushed aside by the dies after the strike. Report this Post to the Staff
