Unknown 1796 Ish Coin, Id: 5 Soldi - Vittorio Amedeo III

The date appears to say 1796 although it could be 1706 or 1786. it is around 24.5 mm in diameter and around 1mm thick. * Moved by Staff moved to a more appropriate forum. * Report this Post to the Staff

I was not able to find anything online that looked similar to this for Hibernia half penny. there is also the issue of the clear date printed on the bottom of the coin below the portrait bust which I do not see on samples of those coins. thanks Report this Post to the Staff

I am definitely not an expert on those things though so I assumed it was me. Perhaps you an help us a little bit by telling us about aspects of the coin that don't come over well in your pics. Other than the letter D (and what looks like a letter G) on the front of this coin, are there any other parts of the inscription that are visible with the coin in hand? Your second pic is somewhat blurry, but looks like it is mostly worn flat. Is there anything visible to you other than the top part of a person with perhaps a flag to the left? And on the date, I think 1706 is much less likely based on the hairstyle, and agree 1786 or 1796. (Edit: which puts it in the range of Conder tokens, though maybe too small?)
