OK, fellow Knights and other Darksiders, I reckon it must be my turn to give this contest thing a whirl.

It'll be my contest, so I get to make the Rules, but it'll be similar to the recent ones by Renal and toast. Do the following Rules seem reasonable? Your feedback and suggestions are welcome.

1. The aim will be to identify the country of origin of as many of the coins as you can.

2. The contest shall be open for one week. If by the end of that week, no-one has found all the correct answers, the winner shall be the first person to send in the highest number of correct answers. On the other hand, if anyone gets all the answers right, they win and the contest is over then and there.

3. Send your answers to me by e-mail. Because my e-mail program sorts mail by Your Time Sent rather than My Time Received, you must "lock in" your answers by simultaneously posting a brief note in the contest post, along the lines of "Sap, you've got mail". Do not post your answers in the Forum.

4. You will not be informed of how well you did until the contest is announced to be over. If, after you send me your answers, you wish to add to or correct your answers, you may do so. Only the final answers received by you will be accepted.

5. The winner will receive a nice bundle of darkside coins, which at the moment consists of: Australia Bradman 20c, Congo 10 sengi, Ecuador 20 sucres, Eritrea 5 cents, Paraguay 10 guaranies, Slovenia 50 stotintov, Straits Settlements 5c. I might end up adding to this before the start.

Unfortunately, I anticipate being quite busy with my Coin Club Magazine for the next week or so, but I hope to begin this quiz before April Fool's Day. Seriously.

I seems the coin identification idea is evolving :)
Your rules sound just fine to me. And you are very generous with the prize. I assume the quiz will be a killer

Just one suggestion, from what I learned from doing the contest. If it is hard, start it on a Friday night or Saturday morning so the working members can have a fair go at it.

Sorry, toast, that'll be right in my busy period, I think. I was thinking about starting it on Sunday afternoon, Queensland time. That should (by my reckoning) be early Saturday morning New York time?

Hang on, I think that's early Sunday morning in New York.

Dang it, can't we move to a flatter planet with fewer timezones? [:p]

Anyways, you'll see it when you see it.
