TryThisOnce New Member United States 3 Posts	Posted 01/08/2022 8:09 pm Hello, this is my first post as I was digging through my small coin collection and came across this. I remember where I got this but would like some others to see if they can tell me if it's real or fake? If it's real I'd like to sell it. Background: I'm American but my wife is Polish and her cousin works at a currency exchange on the Polish/Belorussian border and he gave me a bunch of currency in 2006 when we visited Poland. He gave me some other stuff that I don't think he knew the value of, but then again nor did I. So just looking for some more experienced collectors to weigh in. Sap Moderator Australia 16916 Posts	Posted 01/10/2022 8:42 pm At 10 grams, it almost certainly won't be made of gold. See that "8" in between the pillars? That's the denomination, 8 escudos. An 8 escudo coin ought to weigh about 27 grams. 10 grams would be about right for an object the same size as an 8 escudos, but made of brass.
