I tend to agree that a cleaning is unlikely though there's been 71 years during which time someone could have done so. But the faint stippling across the entire surface suggests that this has not been cleaned recently and the patch of extreme toning, likely due to a hole in the 2x2 indicates that it's been sitting undisturbed for a considerable chunk of time.
Ultimately though, I agree with Okiecoiner. This is a perfectly collectable coin but not worth sending to a
TPG. Even if it were an MS-64 it would not command more than $60. And, while the details are excellent, the eye appeal is on the low side due to that toning splotch - sale price would likely be well below Trends.
Keep it, enjoy it and, hey, maybe by the time your grand children are interested it will be worth a fortune!
