My father would always hoard Denver minted coins because they were rare on the east coast - at least until all the jet-setters appeared. Now the problem with circulation is the lack of people using cash. Try coin roll hunting if you haven't already. I think you would have a better chance of finding them and in good shape from bank rolls then waiting to come across them in change. Report this Post to the Staff

jpsned Pillar of the Community United States 2200 Posts	Posted 04/23/2024 12:59 pm I'm in Massachusetts and also haven't found a 2023-D penny yet. I also have yet to find a 19-D, 21-D, or 22-D. Same is true for nickels--no 22-D or 23-D yet. And as far as dimes go, no 09-D, 10-D, and 2017-D through 2023-D. I grew up in NJ and learned early on that the Denver and San Francisco coins took time to work their way to the northeast. So it is indeed cause for celebration when one pops up in change.
