I could only find one of these that sold on ebay for $100, although
a different year. Any value to this one. I still have yet to acquire the KM text of world coins.

Nice looking coin design.

Thanks in advance to all the helpful members.

It's Norway, 2 Kroner, Håkon VII, .800 silver, mintage 150K (scarce year), Krause KM#370 and value listed for F: $80, VF: $125, XF: $175. And sometimes Krause is low on values for scarcer coins.

It looks like there may be some PVC goo above the 2 on the reverse. You may want to consider an acetone bath.

I'm probably wrong, but the color and some of the detail doesn't look right to me. I think this might be a Chinese copy.

I've seen 2Kr worn/colored like this, but let's hear from someone in Norway like Litotes.

Wow , Echizento thinks it could be a copy, must be a keeper. These coins that I have been inquiring about I inherited from my mother-in-law. They have been in her possession for many, many , many years. But if someone is making copies of this coin I must have found a good one. Most were just junk (I thought) some common silver dollars and some 90% silver is all I thought were any good.

I will have to post more to have evaluated.

As for the acetone bath, how long do you bathe the coin ?

Thanks for your help.

adco1149- This one looks pretty good to me. But usually the edges of a coin tell much. So would it be possible for you to post some pics of the edges? And, yes, I am quite eager to see the other coins you mentioned.

As for the acetone bath, many claim that two hours is all you need, and that what doesn't come off after two will not come off in acetone.

Here are pics of two locations of the edge of the coin in question.

Other finds will and have had the notation of "grandmas closet" in the title.

My thanks again for the input.

This coin appears genuine to me. The colour is not particularly unusual. Although it is true there has been made Chinese copies recently. You should get it weighed to be sure. An original weighs 15 grams, a fake a good deal less.

Value for this coin in the latest Norwegian catalogue: $125 (grade F)

As for year, this is the best of the type. The easiest is 1917.

Looks good to me, the edge furthers that belief.
