Tried Rebel website (nearest store to me over 300km away) but they want $18 for two coins and $20 to post them! As much as I hate to support the ebay scalpers, I managed to buy a set for less than Rebel want. At least my collection of circulating colored $2 coins is still complete but I wish RAM could get these releases right. Report this Post to the Staff

I'm happy to have secured examples of both designs but would much rather support legitimate sources. Until RAM get it right, what option do I really have? This is the RAM's doing. Stating that "any listings prior to the release date are considered illegitimate" is laughable. Who cares if the RAM considers those coins as "illegitimate" and once in the hands of collectors, who is going to know the source? The RAM sell rolls of coins and could sell these releases that way too. I understand the concept of releases through retailers but it clearly isn't working when scalpers (or whatever you want to call them) can sell them too. It is the retailers who miss out when this happens and I wonder if they will ever wake up? Report this Post to the Staff
