My wall display is almost done. I was a History major and always loved the subject. Its a big reason I got into collecting coins in the first place. Of significant interest were/are the events of the 19'th and 20'th centurys that led to such horrific World Wars, such cruelty, such hatred, such evolution of the machines of War and the doctrines of using them.

So I wanted to build a collection display to remember and honor the victims of these atrocities, to remember the perpetrators, to remember the Heros that struck down the evils of fascism. In coins and currency I have built, or at least tried to, a display that reflects a period of Empires and destruction and in my own small way give new meaning to the words "Never forget".

Thanks to the Internet I can share it with you. Its maybe 90% done. I'm trying to get some coins/currency to help remember the Armenian genocide and I expect more material to go up to remember the millions who died and suffered in the '30's and post WW2 in Joe Stalins Soviet Union. In particular the "Holodomor" the time of great famine in Ukraine, a great genocide when Stalin starved to death 4 to 7 million in Ukraine when the Soviets forced the collectivization of agriculture in one of the worlds great bread baskets.

But mostly....its done.

Looking good!

I moved your topic to the Main forum. The "Post Your..." Gallery Topics forum has a more specific purpose, e.g. gallery type topics such as "Post your baseball coins" etc.

Very impressive, well done. Sadly, kids are not taught enough history in the schools these days IMO.

I love it. We should all do something like this to honor all who served.

Thanks fellas. Couldn't have done it without this guy. Really neat stuff at a very good price. https://www.joelscoins.com/wwii.htm

It was Japanese militarism I had the hardest time finding. Especially currency, but I did find some really nice coins in remembrance of a cruel regime.

And it is going to get worse. Latest instructions from the NEA to teachers is when teaching about the Holocaust, to not make refence to the Jewish people. They say to focus on the other groups such as the criminals, the gypsies, the homosexuals etc. that the Germans rounded up as sent to concentration camps. Yes they did that, but they were concentration camps not death camps. There's a difference. Yes members of the other groups did die in the camps, but the Holocaust was the systematic attempt to exterminate the Jews. How do you teach about the Holocaust and not mention the Jews? "The Germans rounded up these various groups of people and shipped them off to camps. One group was segregated out and sent to special camps to be killed, but the other groups were badly treated in the concentration camps and some of them died as well." "Too Much? Maybe we shouldn't mention the group that was segregated or the special camps?"

The Jews said "Never forget" Eisenhower wanted the conditions in the camps filmed extensively because if they weren't "within ten year there would be people claiming it never happened", and now it is being actively cut out from the teaching of history.
