hockingzig Pillar of the Community United States 1450 Posts	Posted 11/06/2009 2:25 pm One of my students stopped by today and in the course of conversation mentioned he had just inherited a huge jug of coins from his grandmother. He said he was going to dump them at the Coinstar and I said"NO WAY", I told him I would buy them from him at at least face value and he asked why I would want them. I told him what I do and he got interested so, I may be getting a possible treasure trove or at least have gotten another poor soul addicted! Report this Post to the Staff

If you can hook another person into careing thats great. I hope grand-mama stashed coins for 50+ years. Could be a lot of nice silver in there. Report this Post to the Staff

In this case it's inheritance, easy come, easy go! People wonder why are country is in such economic disaster, no business sense. I am a professor at a university and I would NEVER tell my students I collect coins. I "trust" them but.....not something I want to advertise in any way at all. My wife works at a university with a lot of foreign students from a lot of different places and she can get me a lot of interesting stuff, but it isn't worth it to me. Last month she brought me a Jordanian Dinar and thought I'd praise her efforts, but I scolded her!! Hmmm.... love the wife's thoughts but....can't go there. Report this Post to the Staff
