Only four more to go to complete my set from circulation. I still need a 1938S, 1939D, 1943D and 1944S. Not bad when you consider I just started nickel roll searching in January 2009.

That's really great! Does this mean you've found the elusive 09's? I still haven't seen any searching!

Actually, I have found a 2009 P from circulation but no sign of a D mint. So, I guess I have 5 more to go to complete my set.

I see you also got the 50D! Congrats. Eight more to go in my book and the 39 D and S are missing for me.

Congratulations on your set, that's awesome!

I've found all of the above Nickels in circulation in the past 16
months, so there are a few out there! (but no '50-D for me yet)

In fact, last year I decided to take a little break from Nickel roll
searching, and I got a VF 1938-S and an AU 1951-P in my change
from retail transactions the very next day!

I found one in my mailbox!

Seriously, "P" coins are virtually impossible to find in Denver
anyway, until they're about five years old. And the Fed is holding
all the 2009-D business strike Nickels 'hostage'....

Great job, hockingzig! Do you have any idea of how many rolls of nickels you've searched through so far?

I lost track of roll numbers somewhere in the 800's I think. Doing all the stats made it seem too much like work for me so I just enjoy the treasure hunting aspects of roll searching. A good estimate could be determined from an average of about 20 rolls a day, 6 days a week since the second week of January. All I know is it is a whole bunch.

No problem, just buy a 2009 United States Mint Uncirculated Coin SetŪ (U09),
and there's your 2009-D Nickel!

Business strike 2009-D Nickels are another story...

I'm still getting BU 2008-D Nickels and Dimes in my change, and until
those are run out, the Fed will hang on to the 2009-D's...
