Are any of you familiar with the Prooflike Washington Silver Quarters?

In my research, NGC and PCGS have certified very few Washington quarters w/ the PL (Prooflike) designation from the 1940's through the 1950's and they command quite a premium.

Well I believe I may have one...a 1950-S.

Here's a known graded example and my raw coin for comparison.

This coin is a real pain to photograph btw....

What do you all think?

Not sure on it being PL, but it's really nice.

Hard to say just from pictures. The only real way to know is send it in.

I can't tell from those photos. Do you have a local coin shop with knowledgable dealer? Give them a chance to look at it and offer an opinion.

Your coin has a ton more obverse cameo than the graded example. I'd send it in if it were mine. Keep us posted, that's a cool coin

But it isn't the cameo appearance that designates a PL coin - it's the depth of reflectivity in the fields. And that really can't be seen in the pictures.

Are you sure about that?
when thinking about the reflective aspect of proof-like I think "DMPL" Deep Mirror, then Proof Like - DM being the reflectivity part and the overall appearance (Cameo and smooth clear fields)

I believe that PL does not require reflectivity while DMPL does.

Sweet example, I'm liking the soft tone. The sharper, more squared rim edge has me leaning in that direction. So close on devices as well.
