Going through some of my ASE's. I wonder what the reverse was sitting on and what it says. I see possibly "Litt" and "coin" above it. I'm guessing Littleton coin company.

Before I scrolled down to the rest of the comment, I went and flipped the image and ended up with what Hondo did above.
But I'll guess that the coin was in a clear plastic coin holder and the Littleton name was printed on the plastic flip and 'protected the reverse from toning out properly. It could make for a nice pocket piece now

I don't see a mint mark, so this is a bullion coin.
