Back in June I picked up a 5000 count bag of wheats that the seller picked up about 15 years ago as an investment, to sell after he retired). I was a little skeptical but the age held some promise.

I'm about half way through and it has held quite a few interesting "nuggets", but because of my schedule and new phone I have to be selective in which I post.
This is the third 1949S DDO in the bag, and the easiest to ID and image. I still can't get good closeups though. (The others were another DDO-001 and an 002)

Hard one to tell. Looks more like roller lines than a woody.

I'm glad you mentioned that because I agree that it has roller lines on it.

On circulated examples, like the ones I've found in this bag, DDO's can be hard to spot. The blunt 4 over the pointed 4 almost looks like a circulation hit or isolated MD.

This bag has been mostly San Fran mint coins (99%), and so far, there has been a really high percentage of 1940S coins (+-25%).

The very first coin I looked at in the bag was a 1944S DDR-001 in MS that was struck on a tapered planchet (2.6 gr).

I like the roller lines on both sides.

That's a neat variety. There are so few examples of that doubled die sub-type. Good luck with the rest of the hoard! =)
