Got this "Scar Face" nickel in change this week. It shows some wear and I want to talk myself into believing that it is just PMD but the "scar" on the Lincoln's cheek appears to be above the surface. Die dots, or chip, or nothing?

That is damage from something hitting it and displacing the metal.
Possibly Reed Marks from another coin.
