I buy sometimes from CGB Numismatics Paris. They sold me a fake france 5 franc 1829 coin that should have been easily identified as fake given theyre supposed to be experts in french coins (reeded edge with irregular reeding)(now I'm wondering if I bought fake ones before and didnt realize it.). After about 1 week of contacting them they finally respond they will refund, but since then, they never reply to my messages. I wrote in french also.
I have about 1000 usd in coins I bought from them sitting at their company in France. I paid all the invoices, minus the refund they said I woud receive, and requested them to send the coins but they never reply after that one time. The invoice still remains unpaid according to their website.
The problem is I paid by debit, not credit card, so I cant call the card company to reverse charges. Any ideas on dealing with a company that has such poor customer service?

Might sound extreme but try contacting the Embassy of Canada in Paris and have someone there contact the auction house. Any pencil pusher would do.

Update: sometimes they come to my city to promote their coins.

All I had to do was say that they have to come to my city sometime, and when they do, I will be waiting to deal with them in person.

lo and behold, 15 minutes later, contact finally came, assuring me they were on it.

what is it with these companies who competely unappreciate the customers who gave them their business in the first place.
i dont care how busy you are, if I spend thousands of dollars on your business, I expect the common courtesy of a reply.

When I have my coins in hand, then I can say it worked. Until then, I will be preparing for my future meeting.
