My lordy why is everything, I mean everything, Gold, Silver, DOW, S&P, NASDAQ, Russell, why is all of it so Red today? No, no, silly rhetorical question alert. Of course I know why.
Oh and hey, the tech sector especially, like the NASDAQ, NQ, QQQ's, why are they down the most?.. Isn't the whole AI thing and Technology sector the only thing holding up the entire stock market for the past 2 months? Including Silver.
No, no, silly rhetorical question alert again.. Yes, yes it is the only thing holding up the entire market.
What a Doozy of a day.. It's feeling pretty grim at the moment at least..
Fortunately or unfortunately? Most people alive today don't know what a "Black Monday" is huh?
Oh boy!!
Sometimes things don't happen "on cue" or when you expect it though. Imagine sitting in a dingy on a lake 60 meters deep. Just you and a big rock and long rope about 40 meters long. You tie one end of the rope to the rock, the other end to your feet. You jump in the lake with the rock simultaneously letting go of the rock. People on shore turn and look but only see you floating there, they don't see the rock plummeting beneath the surface, so they assume "nothing's happening" and go back to their picnic.. Then a little while later..
Alrighty, back to watching the minions from despicable me, they're a funny bunch.. Toodles... And good luck next week..

I think that the bursting of the AI bubble is going to drag down the entire economy, silver included, just like 2008-2009. Back then it was the housing bubble, mortgage going bad on brick and mortar homes. Now it seems AI investment loans going bad due to the over-construction of brick and mortar data centers. Not to mention the fact that data centers need a huge amount of energy, which so happens to be going up in price courtesy of a bunch of wars going on in Europe and the Middle East. I just put 10% of my money into a 4.9% CD for two years. Seems like a good deal to me.

I just parked what I could in a CD last June. And while it's not a huge sum, it IS a huge part of my net worth. But it's only paying marginally more than a smaller amount in an interest drawing savings account. Neither one keeps up with inflation under DJT, but it's better than stuffing my mattress with it.

The 2008-9 Housing bubble was Mainly in the US, we in Canada felt very little economic hurt . In fact the CAD dollar broke par with USD and got as high as 1.04-05 !As to expensive electric rates , enjoy we will see if we can make them even higher for you ! BC and Quebec have incredibly low priced electric rates due to the hydro power created from hydro electric dam projects . We would share with you guys but there Seems to be a slight problem right now. Any 2008-9 type crisis based on Tech .,.enjoy south of the 49th! Not going to bother the rest of the civilized world. The biggest issue facing the US., 41 Trillion and counting and inflation that appears to be not be under control. Thus the World wants higher interest rates. This is completely Bearish for the metals¡

A little upward motion to start the day/week as silver heads into the ~$51 zone.

Quote: This is completely Bearish for the metals¡ Yes, yes, yes, and sadly yes. Wherever the market goes Silver will follow. And the market fundamentals have changed significantly in the past few months. It's not just the metals that have broken through all their support and trend lines recently. The cracks and broken support and trend lines are everywhere you look. The Technology chips sector ETF SOXX for example just broke through the bottom of an upward channel it's been following and that's been intact for 18 years. Since the bottom of 2008. This is a significant structural shift. That's just one of many examples of what's happening beneath the surface of our stock market right now. Silver performed incredibly well this year despite all it's challenges. It overcame and held steady through the surging Dollar. The start of the Iran war, rising Oil, and all the geopolitical drama. And I watched it and studied it through all of that and saw it still had a chance at staying above $60 through the year. It's buried in the archives but sometime last spring after the start of the Iran conflict I came on here and posted about how I had moved all of my retirement money out of the S&P and stocks funds and put them into what the plan calls a bond blend fund. Mostly bonds with limited stock exposure. I said the market is toppy, war might crash it, I'm locking in my gains. So the strategy was, and still is, to only put new money into the S&P and stock funds and buy all the way down. Well low and behold the market went up until the summer. Thanks only due to the AI craze. And then it topped off and went flat in August. So I was a little early but better early than 1 day too late. But still Silver was still fighting and it even came back up from the upper $50's in the mid summer. I was still trading like crazy (not with my nest egg of course) and Silver could just as easily kept going to $70 and above. But the death blow to Silver came at the end of September after the Fed decision to raise rates, because of all the inflation. And beginning of October is when I really started noticing the "shifty" moves or signs that something weird is going on. And I was on here talking about $55 Silver and how I wasn't trading anything with a 10 foot pole until after the elections. And now there's talk in the media about tech selling off and dragging the market down. And funny how I woke up this morning and see my news feed saying that the market was up this morning thanks to a dramatic drop in Oil futures over the weekend, after the biggest tech sell off since 2025.. Huh? Why? Market up Because Oil prices dropped? Did the war end? And I haven't even woke up yet but then I remember seeing DJT this weekend in the media. Standing in front of a rally with a gigantic Oil Tanker behind him. An Oil tanker from Venezuela no less. And he's saying look at all that beautiful Oil coming in. Millions and millions of barrels. And the crowd cheers. And I put 2 plus 2 together and I start laughing to myself. So the Oil futuures market dropped over the weekend, so the stock market stopped crashing over the weekend. So crisis avoided right before the midterms. Makes sense. We're living in a simulation I guess. A really bad one but a simulation no less. And recently the Goofy treasury guy was busy holding press conferences in front of the cheesecake factory and Treasury yields have been dropping, haven't you noticed? It's because someone is buying them all up to keep the bond market from imploding. And you know it's not Japan or our allies. So it must be Us. All of this is happening to keep it all from breaking before Tuesday. But what happens after that? So perhaps today what your seeing in Silver and the Market is possibly like what you see the crazy, I mean fearless, people do that go bungy jumping off of high bridges. They fall, fall, fall and then the cord stretches as far as it can go and starts to pull them back up. And for a moment they are back up and they're weightless and just floating there filled with adrenaline and euphoria. And then it's time to go down again and the screaming starts again. What do you think? By Wednesday or Thursday maybe?

Back below $50 is more like it. It was $48 overnight Imagine the moment you get pulled suddenly beneath the surface of the water, or the $50 zone as you call it. Then you manage to pull yourself up to the $51 zone as you said yesterday. But the weight is still dragging you down. And down you go again. Or the bungy jumper analogy, falling, falling, falling, screaming, below $50. Then it stops.. And the cord pulls him up and he's floating at $51 for a moment, laughing, enjoying the moment.. And then the fall resumes, back below $50. This is the price action you're witnessing. And I thought it would at least wait until tomorrow. Quote: What do you think? By Wednesday or Thursday maybe?
So when are you changing the title of this thread?

Move the Conversation? Sure.. Except that -"Is Silver Going To $?" And- "what Happens To Silver Next?" Actually is the same conversation. And to have this conversation all you need are people with some knowledge, analysis, insight, or whatever, to participate in that discussion, doesn't matter where. Otherwise it's just people quoting the current spot prices over and over.
Soo, what we saw on Monday, as far as price action, is sort of what's called a Pop and Fade. You saw it overnight but you really saw it at the open when the price shot up right at the opening bell. These weren't buyer's stepping back in to save the day. These were Shorts covering. That was the Pop. Then you saw the price fade all day and fall back down overnight.
Technically they appeared to be buyer's because the price goes up. But what happens when traders cover Short positions? They have to Buy back what they sold. That looks like buying on a chart. Why did they all come in and cover at the same time? Because the market was going up on Monday on news of Oil futures dropping over the weekend, and you have to cover your shorts ASAP after markets opens to prevent losses.
Why did it fade afterwards? Because the Market's always have a knee jerk reaction to news events, then they rationalize the move later. Was the news event worthy of a rally or was it fake News? and do we go back to selling now?
Right now there's not a whole lot of appetite for buying Silver, or stocks. It's going to take a whole lot of buyer's and buying to get Silver going. There's a huge amount of overhead supply.
If there was actual honest to goodness Real good news that came out that caused Silver to go up. The Short covering would not only cause Silver to go up for just 1 day. It would catapult Silver to go up for about 3 day's, because the Short covering would trigger more Short covering, and that would be compounded by the buyer's stepping in.
We're not there yet. I told you about a month ago that in November things would get this way. There was stuff I wrote about was coming that could flip the markets in the end of October and flip them again in November. And that we'd all be wrong from one day to another.
The bad news is that it's not over yet. What happened last week should be titled "And so it begins". But at least the only good news is that after this weeks midterms, at least for U.S. markets we'll have some definite direction.
I will get back into trading again right after that, as promised. Watching silver because what it needs to do is disconnect from equities, however I'm afraid what is required for that to happen first is for both Silver and the Market's to take a really hard flush. Then watch Silver recover and leave the markets behind.

No idea if it has anything to do with last night's election results, but silver got a nice bump overnight back up to the ~$52 range.

I doubt the midterm election results had anything to do with silver or equities movements today. Perhaps some small effect. I think what will move forex and PMs in the coming months is Europe, not the United States. At least two big countries over there have painted themselves into a corner with entitlement programs (programmes? ) in a currency that they no longer control, in economies that are quite stagnant. The British are in a similar situation, but they still control the GBP. I'm not sure what moves the ECB could take regarding precious metals, or what its actions might cause indirectly in the PM markets.

Quote: Crude choppy but rangebound as Iran risks offset the midterm trade; precious metals surge on the Democratic sweep and Iran risk crude benchmarks are modestly firmer after having dipped overnight as US president Trump told the FT there is no immediate plan to strike Iran.... This was on my trading newswire at 4:30 AM when I woke up and saw Silver back up at $52. Do I completely buy this? No But the market is having it's knee jerk reaction as always and this one could have some real kick to it. Because of its 'potentially' good news for Silver in terms of the war. So this is why I wasn't trading anything until after the midterms. This is why I said we'd be wrong from one day to the next. This is why I said you have to be both smart and lucky to trade in this market and not get turned into hamburger meat. Can you imagine shorting silver and stocks last night and waking up to this headline and a rally ensuing? Kiss your money goodbye. So anyway now what happens? What has changed? Is the good news for Silver that Democrats can end the war? Or at least stop it from escalating? Open the straight? Bring Oil prices down? Lower inflation? Is this what the market is celebrating? Let's wait and see. I would give this some time for the dust to settle. For today it might be a little bit of a squeeze.
