DREAM FIND!
Since getting into this the 1996 FS-101 has been a personal obsession to find, above or equal to something that dwarfs it in value.
I have rolls of 96s I've painstakingly collected CRH and was going through some tonight with a jewelers loupe. I find tons of DDDbld 96s and tend to move on quickly. Thank God I checked the date first! Had I seen the deteriorated U first, I could have moved on. As you can see, That date, in spite of the deterioration, is one of a kind. I'm down away I actually found one!

Does anyone know if any other specimens have been found that are this late stage? If anyone would like it to photograph or catalogue for research purposes please lmk! Be happy to send it out before Grading it.

Seems to be a very nice find I looked it up on VV but it does not seem to match it , but then the VV examples are a bit fuzzy.
Is this where you got the attribute for it? Or another site?

Can you please post up the link that you found?

Here's the ref y'all!! lol re the VV listing. Def shot with a potato.
On the date, The parallel stacked splitting on the ends of the 6 , notch on the upper right 1, then inside curl of the 9s, the front of the coat. The separation lines on the motto are really deteriorated but with the amount of 96s I've searched, including finding DDO-002, this is either DDO-001 or it's as of yet undiscovered sibling. Either way, stoked.
Thanks for taking a look.

The notches on the letters of TRUST are all lower left, so it must be clockwise. Here's Wexlers date and mine.

I hear you, Dearborn, and I completely agree. I'm certainly not convinced. My thinking, though, is that regardless of whether this is DDO-001, with outer device deterioration this pronounced, I don't think this die would exactly match with its earlier state.
To educate myself and remove all doubt, tonight I'll make some overlays with better matched photos to the references and update back here.
