But I have added this Dublin penny of John (ND 1177-1216), instantly recognisable because of the triangle feature surrounding the portrait. Ob. IOhA NNES RE X Crowned facing bust, holding cruciform scepter; rosette to right; all within triangle, legend around Rev. #10016; ROB#1028; #10016; RD ON #10016; DIV#1028; Pinwheel (sun) within crescent moon; three stars around; all within triangle; three crosses pattee, legend around All we really know of this moneyer is that he worked at Dublin around 1207-1211. In general I'm not into medieval or hammered coinage but some of them appeal to me. That's a good one for the time period, with the triangle and a portrait, and the symbols on the reverse.
