Please help us id this coin. Could be a button/medallion of some sort. Found in the Painted Desert area. any ideas on what it is, where it came from?

It resembles a cistophorus, an ancient coin from Ephesus, Turkey. Wildwinds example. Can you give us the diameter and, if possible, a weight?

Thank you for your response! The coins/medallions do look quite similar. Ours is 1 inch in diameter and except for not being completely rounded, it is the same size and shape as an American quarter. I believe our coin is slightly heavier than a quarter, but we do not have a way of weighing it.
Any ideas?
