The usual edge inscription for Nazi Germany's coins (only the 2 and 5 Reichsmark pieces had text on the edge) was "Gemeinnutz geht vor Eigennutz" which roughly means that the common interest is more important than the individual interest. Not sure what variation you have in mind, but the Hindenburg 5 RM coins have that motto too ...
