You can get a 1950 D on ebay for about $10 practically any day of the week. There are several auctions right now for AU/BU 1950 D nickels. According to PCGS, nearly 225,000 MS 1950 D nickels are out there.

I found a similar example while searching through some nickel rolls last week - a 1959-D to which someone had clearly taken a chisel! I decided to keep it in its own 2x2, with the notation "FAKE 1950-D". Novelty piece, and it only cost me a nickel!

I just purchased a 50D today for 10 bucks at a dealer. So thats about what you pay. They were higher a wile back, but have dropped a lot lately.
