That is an 1882 Shield nickel not an 1883. In 1883 the date logotype punch had a lot more space between the digits. You could almost put another digit in between each of them.
The 1882 logotype punch broke down during use resulting in a "Heavy 2" that dealers frequently try to pass off as either an 83/2 or as an "unlisted" 82/1. Many of the 83/2 Shield nickels listed on ebay, especially the raw ones, are actually 1882 heavy 2's.
