http://www.ebay.com/itm/ULTRA-RARE-...em3cbd0aca21It's not even slabbed. Plus the guy doesn't know the definition of "full split bands." Another red flag is this guy's broken English (although it might be because he's from Michigan). Isn't this about $9,980 over priced? But it does have free shipping!

Overpriced? Hardly not - it's exactly as old as I am. Vintage stuff there.

I asked him which TPG and which auction house.

I sent the guy a note saying he needed to study up on what full bands actually are and then told him his picture shows the center bands fully merged into one and have to be fully separated to be considered full SPLIT bands. I'll post his response if I get one. Ed ANA LM-3175

I've looked at a lot of uncirculated 1945 dimes lately in an effort to find an acceptable one (I don't dream of finding a full-bands one I can afford), and that one's actually better struck than half of them. Some of them don't even show full separation of the sticks in the fasces. They made craptacular dimes that year in Philly.

Hey...Don't be picking on us Michiganders. Even with the Yooper in me I speak GOODER then most. LOL!
Now...since I crossed the river with the wife I find myself speaking some mixed broken french Canadian slang. Sometimes I have a hard time understanding WTH I'm saying. LOL!

Captainwiffo,
I am in the same boat you're in, finding a FSB 1945 P is going to be a challenge. PCGS price guide has it at $500 at MS 60 FB, but no where to be found...
Any one seem one at this grade? Links

PCGS lists a population of 113 in all grades with full bands, and NGC has just 22. Heritage is selling a MS65FB next month. I saw one on ebay a while back with a sharp-ish strike and probably 75% separation on the bands, but it was going for way more than it was worth. I get FB whenever I can, but for certain dates, I don't consider those two letters to be worth the cost.

While I agree it is well struck, it's no where near FSB and is maybe, maybe a $20 coin. I wonder too if the photos have been Photoshop enhanced to improve the sharpness by increasing contrast? I've found this to be true in many ebay auctions. As to my Michigander remark, I can only respond by saying GO BUCKS!
