I have been saving this coin for over 50 years.
This coin has NO 4 in the date (19_3).
Where can I go to see if this is a true error coin?

You have a coin that was most likely struck with a clogged die. It is a fairly common occurrence and I have seen other 1943s missing the 4 as well. Because it is a normal part of the minting process, it is not considered to be an error unless significant portions of detail are obscured. There is also no possible way for a single digit or letter to be left off the die. At the time, the entire design(minus the mintmark) was transferred to the die in one process called hubbing. Once the die was prepared, the mintmark was applied by hand but it has now been part of the hub design since 1990.

I am going to disagree slightly. Since it is a clogged die or Grease Filled Die, that does affect a design element, it is then a true mint error. However, it is minor error.

One only has to look at the missing D in the 1922 Lincoln Cent to see the ramifications of a clogged die and the value associated with such.

I agree, probably a clogged or Grease Filled Die.
