When you get to borders, it may be perfectly OK for someone with a local passport to take countless coins out of a country but not allowed for you to have even one. Laws don't have to be 'right' or make sense. I have a friend that has spent way too much time being hassled by border guards and customs officials so he no longer feels comfortable visiting certain countries even if he has no coins. I suggest buying coins that are already in your own country unless you are very sure you know the laws on both sides of every border you cross.
