Well folks, this is my latest mystery item.

It is a terrible scan since it has such a depth of field, but we'll get started with this and I'll get photos of it this afternoon.

At the bottom of the image, it says "RED CLOUD" and there might be someother script that is really hard to make out at about 4 o'clock.

The reverse has a signiture but it's super hard to make out other than Dave Ba?h (or something like that).

This piece is 3-1/4" wide and between 1/8" (rim) to 1/2" (tip of nose) and supposedly cast sterling silver. Maybe from the 60's.

Any ideas?

Not sure but could this be a American heritage series medal?
There are several Red Clouds, here is one interesting article on Wiki:

D!

And I was thinking no one would even notice this thread. ;)

Good to hear from you. Thanks for the suggestion.

You know, one of the really odd things about this piece is that it looks like it had a small stone in the eye(s) of the indian. That makes me think that it was more of an art piece than anything, that and the signature on the back.

I'm hoping to get this one tested in the next few days...make sure it's even silver!

Well, the tests of it's silver content are pretty conclusive.
