I have a Series 2006 1 dollar note and the paper has no dye.
The paper is white. I would post pictures but I am blocked from doing so.
I had a couple of Local Shops look at it and had two different results.
(1) Had never seen a note like this before. We compared new 2006 against this bill...this shop did recommend certification/verification because they had never seen a bill like this.
(2) Had never seen a note like this before. "The paper is real, the bill is real,,,Maybe it should be sent to PCGS..." "I wouldn't give more than face value..."
So there...I need to post a picture.
I will keep working on that or maybe post on another site and reference to that site.
I just wanted to know if anyone here has seen or heard of a white paper 1 dollar note?
I is not a photo copy, it is an authentic US dollar Federal Reserve Note. The overlay of the print is nice, the rest of the printing is authentic, the note is crisp.
Any thoughts?

If it is white like printer paper or like notebook paper, and especially if it has a similar feel as paper, I'd wager it's a fake. Sorry. The reason I say so is that US currency is not made on paper as we normally think of it-- it is made on cotton. It is a very specific type of cotton paper, and to my knowledge it is not bleached prior to its use and that's what gives the background color. In fact as I am thinking about it they use colored threads in the cotton fibers, as an anti-counterfeiting device. So it is not bleached, and the the background is the paper-- it's not like they use white and then print on it to where they might have missed a step. This would have to be entirely the wrong paper stock.

It is always "theoretically" possible that someone slipped in a sheet of the wrong paper, but I can't see that a) happening, b) missing the multi-stage QC at the BEP, c) getting missed by the automated counters at the bank, and d) making it into circulation... all with nobody noticing. And it if is white like you say, that would stick out like a sore thumb.

Not saying it is impossible, because I suppose stranger things have happened--- but were I a betting man I'd bet everything I own that it's a fake.

I would like to see photos though!

The paper is real, the threads are in the paper. Under a microscope 30x magnification, the threads are visible, the print overlay is identical across non-white notes as well as this note. It is unusual. The picture requirements are small here but I was able to resize and post a picture. If some one reprinted a one dollar this nice on bleached paper, maybe a bleached out one dollar bill, and then reprinted...hmm...well, they did a great job and they must have access to original print type.
Has anyone seen one anything like this?

Don't worry about covering the serial numbers..lol

What condition is the note in? I'm thinking someone experimented with it and bleached it.. Maybe ironed it afterwards to keep it nice looking..
