After the Japanese decimated our fleet in Pearl Harbor Dec 7, 1941, they could have sent their troop ships and carriers directly to California to finish what they started.

Failing that, they could EASILY have invaded and occupied Hawaii. That would have given them the forward air and naval base needed to launch successful attacks against the American mainland. Additionally, it would have given them complete access to the virtually undamaged Pearl Harbor ship repair docks and fueling bunkers. This may well have been the greatest strategic error in human military history.

These men deployed to the woods of a single American state to hunt with firearms, and no one was killed. That number pales in comparison to the 750,000 who hunted the woods of Pennsylvania and Michigan's 700,000 hunters. All of whom have now returned home.

Difficult to believe that there were no fatalities in these two states. A quick Google check of this shows that in the USA there were between 350-400 deaths among hunters last year. That would be an average of about 7-8 deaths per state. It is amazing that two such heavily populated states did not participate in these averages.

The Pearl Harbor observations ignore the argument that the US was "in" on things from the beginning, and the whole point was to drag the US into WWII, not to have Japan invade the US.

Off the wall arguments are best ignored.
