This PCGS half is in a Genuine holder due to a staple scratch to the left of liberty's breast that is not visible in these photos. Your thoughts on the grade?

Au-50
These are tough. The hair above the eye goes pretty quickly. The clasp is co,plete, as well as the drapery lines, and a fair amount of luster remains.

I would call it AU53. It is the O-111 (R1) also known as the "Child's Head". Hopefully the scratch isn't too noticeable.

I'm on the AU53 bandwagon also.... These are probably my favorite coins.... Each one seems to have its own character (or maybe I'm just one).....

I'm thinking AU53/55. The reverse looks great!

I think its around AU and very nice! I like how detailed the eagles feet are, and the color. The bust half is one of my favorite coins, with all those different varities.

Thanks for your comments guys. The reverse of this coin really is outstanding with full motto and overall detail and has brilliant luster. I have seen many of these bust halves that have one side better struck than the other and I feel the details on liberty are not as strong due to the exceptional reverse. The edge on both sides is not fully struck and shows little of the beading that is on the design.

A definite beauty! AU-50 at a minimum.

AU-55 for detail, I don't see wear for AU-50, but I do see an old wiping which may keep the grade down.
