My new 1866 Shield nickel with Rays. paid $87. I think it grade in at EF45 or AU50. need to get in hand to determine but looks like there is some nice luster left on the obverse. Another slot gone in the type set

At the Santa Clara coin show yesterday I picked up a BU 1935 walker and three Washington quarters, 1945, 1947-D, 1948-S, for my type sets, but the best buy of the day was a Capital Plastics #407 19th & 20th Century type set holder for $12.00. About half of the screws were missing, the holder was assembled incorrectly and it was quite filthy. The picture is after the initial cleaning and proper assembly. I have some more detailed cleaning and deep scratch removal before I start filling it with coins. This is a holder I have looking to get for some time now and though it wasn't in the best shape it will do just fine when I'm finished with its freshening up. Yes, that is my reflection in the picture and, no, I am not naked. Ed ANA LM-3175

Your head looks necked. How do you get scratches out of the holder?

I've been eyeing this one for a while and finally saved enough to get.

Quote: Your head looks necked. Okay, I wasn't wearing a hat so I guess my head was bare. Radiation treatments removed the hair on top. I use Novus 2 fine scratch remover for fine scratches and 3 deep scratch remover for the ones the fine scratch remover does not remove completely. This polish can also be used on the grading service slabs. http://www.novuspolish.com/Ed ANA LM-3175

Hello all, Well one coin has arrived so I will post two pictures that certainly don't do this Walker justice. This coin is what all MS-65 coins should look like, however I just don't have that good a camera! I will post the other when it arrives. Take care Semper Fi and God bless...rcordell

Well I'm pretty disappointed because that 1870 Half Dime I posted above that I saved for turned out to not be available because the dealer had sold it about 6 months ago and forgot to update his inventory. The goods new is they offered me the other coin I had been hoping to get at some point at their cost to make it up to me. I ended up spending about 3 months of my coin budget but I can't say I have any regrets. 1888 SEATED 25C PCGS MS66

Nice Barber halves. I especially like the '96-S. I haven't seen very many of those around.
