Quote: This is #83/84 of the US type set. Gold page is now complete. Excellent! Quote: Yup, just the Seated Liberty half, with arrows, to go. The local coin show is this weekend. So we'll see if there is a good one in My price range. Good luck!

Well,I managed to stay focused, even with a four year old granddaughter tag-along. There was an AU+ there. It was a lighter coin but it had a dark spot right across Liberty's face and for two hundred more,I don't think I would have been happy with it. This one fits better with the others anyhow.

Thanks Everyone! The arrows and rays half is one of My all time favorite coins. It's not a pretty white one,and a little darker than I had wanted, but I like it anyhow. I just need a couple of Morgans for the date set, four Peace dollars, and those two sets will be completed as well. Then I'll have to figure what to collect Next.?

Nice find Cross-eyed! Quote:I just need a couple of Morgans for the date set, four Peace dollars, and those two sets will be completed as well. Then I'll have to figure what to collect Next.? I'm doing a Morgan dollar date set as well. (Dansco album #7171) Just 3 to go - 1891, 1892, and 1894.

That's cool! Those dates shouldn't be too hard to find.Of course,it depends on what grade Your looking for. I put a down payment on a 1895-O today. So,now I just have to find a 1893. I did pick up a '34 Peace dollar.Which makes it three to go for that set.

Trying something different here, picked up a Liberty Seated quarter album. 100+ holes, which thanks to the fine decision-makers at Dansco will never be completed due to inclusion of a coin which guides for $60K (1842 small date proof, PCGS survival estimate of 7). Even without that coin, there are enough challenges to make this series prohibitively expensive in a decent grade so I'm going for low grades and plan to fill holes with non-holed hole fillers. My criteria for now is to buy at auction only with a cap of $25 each. So far the average is $12.56. Eventually I'll need to add a 0, then another 0, and likely yet another 0 for a few coins to get this done. I'm still not sure about this, need to get another 30 or 40 to make up my mind. To get started I bought some batches, but probably won't make sense to do many more of those. Excluding duplicates which will be sold off, I'm sitting at 23/114.

I made an impulse offer on this toned proof. I got it in today and it is overall darker than these seller pics, but the toning is very visible: I will have to experiment with taking my own pics of it.
