Certainly a nice way to start a dollar collection! What did ANACS grade it? A great candidate for the grading thread.

I have been enjoying my recently-purchased Meghrig Half Dollars of the United States folder and splurged on this:

I popped it out of the slab and held it between my thumb and forefinger, feeling the age. It was a rush.

But imagine my surprise when I discovered it is larger than the later half dollars and wouldn't fit the hole.I guess that is understandable for a collector who has never really held one before. I was also surprised to find it thinner than a regular half, at least that's how it felt.

So I put it in a cardboard 2x2 and into a 2x2 album.

My 12 year old granddaughter will get a kick out of holding something so old in her hand, out of the flip. Likely most of the extended family as well.

slapshot - au contraire. That was the problem to begin with. I cracked the slab and set it free.

The 50c is definitely above my usual "pay-grade."
