Quote: pepactonius - Impaired proof by chance? I think it's just NGC AU58 -- were there any branch mint proofs in 1860 (from New Orleans)?

wow, neat coin turingmach! I see Liberty has the notorious "broken nose" effect. A book I have on Mercury dimes states this is, "caused by excessive lapping of the obverse die". Is this coin raw?

Since I've commenced the impossible task of building a set of CBH's in near to full mint state, here is my latest acquisition. She's a real beauty in NGC AU-58 grade. It's an O-110 die pair. PG
