yes, that would be my guess also.. Or they got too worn for proofs but not bad enough for business strike coins.

What's the story behind this coin? Did you have it graded? Thanks, GLB. I didn't see any slabbed examples without issues so I just kept looking for an ungraded one. Spotted the one above and contacted the seller to learn as much as I could about the provenance of his example. Won it in an auction by outbidding somebody by a whole dollar. Sent it in for grading in mid-January. Received it 3/19/25.
