They had it listed as VF and the price was right. I snagged it up. It's even prettier in person. I just love it. Always really liked the eagle, well the oak tree too lol.

Commemorative coinage was first invented by the Greeks to spread news about certain events. Here is a favorite of mine that I recently sold:   This one celebrates the victory of Roman emperor Claudius II over an Alemanni war band that was routed before they could reach Italy, in the fall of 268 AD. The reverse portrays a war trophy (basically a cross upon which the vanquished general's armor would be affixed) and two bound captives, with the legend VICTOR GERMAN.
