Yeah, it wasn't what I went to the coin shop that day to look at, but I couldn't pass up the price.

New purchase for the 7070. Now I have to figure out how to crack it open. I think I'll try a brick first.

my girlfriend started a capped dime set a few months ago, and with this purchase today I am guessing she wants to start a Half Dime set as well.

Your girlfriend collects coins, let alone a capped dime set? I wish I were that lucky. Nice coin btw.

Newest type coin. It took me a while and I viewed a lot of these coins to find one that I liked. Is it me, or do a lot of these two centers have somewhat unattractive toning? Anyway, this one spoke to me and was within my price range.

It is the "Fancy 5" version of the 1865 coin -- not rare by any means, but a nice type coin. No dings or distracting hits, with only the slightest bit of carbon spotting on the obverse at 5 o'clock. The 1865 is one of the best struck years for the type, and this one struck up nice and "purdy".
