I voted for (3), it is closest to the Maklouf bust, which does not appear here.
Machin bust (2) OK, but I never liked the Gillick bust (1).

Of the Gillick bust, I remember seeing the Queen in person in 1954, and she never looked like the image of the Gillick bust, IMO.

I voted (1). The image must have been correct at some time though?

(2) = Lawyer
(3) = Politician
(4) = Looks "confused and out of it as C_C would say"... and wondering what ever happened to (1).

I would have voted (5) Older and more human... the Monarchy is over for Canada after QEII. America has way more influence then the Monarchy ever will again.

If that is the case I would be verry worried, the US isn't looking that flash at the moment.
The US should take some pointers from you blokes in Canada and they may recover faster.
Who else you going to put on the obverse, Obama
I know prince Phillip is no oil painting but we may get bigger coins just so they can fit his ears on the obverse

I for one appreciate the comments here about what appears on Canadian coins after all that can be classed as coin related, but I do not appreciate the personal thoughts and political tones used by certain members here that are not coin related.
I am a member here to enlighten myself on everything that is coin related so please keep your political thoughts to yourself, I for one am not interested..

The only portrait I truly dislike is the last one. This has nothing to do with political tones, and I mean no disrespect to Suzanna Blunt, but I hate seeing Richard Nixon's sister on our coinage.

The monarchy is political by definition. Get out your dictionary or history books or look it for yourself. Again... the monarchy is a political symbol by definition.

If politics bother you so much why not vote for no queen then the coins will actually be free of politics.

Anything else you would like us to do or not do your majesty?

Well lets call a spade a spade, my comments about lets keep our views about politics out of this forum have just been confirmed by badpenny, sorry realpenny.

Not once in his rebuttle does he mention the word " coin" but seems more content at character assasination, shame on you and please lets keep the subject of coins to the forefront of our discussions.

Thank you in advance..

Thank you all for participating in the poll. Overall, the response has been in favor of #2. I thought #3 would be a winner. Interesting results.

badpenny... lol... :P

It is true I did not use the word "coin". I used the word "coins". I was talking pleural though. I did mention which image of QEII I liked though. I also asked about how out of date the image already was in 1954. ie: How young is QEII really in that image? I also said QEII looks better and more in line with reality in the oldest image. She looks more human than symbol. I also will mock silly things, reality is fine by me. Not once have you mentioned anything about the images in the poll or the poll. So please tell us which ones you like and why or why not. Discuss the coin... so far you have not at all. :)

C_C: They are great photos again. It is a nice series. The Kings were short with only text changes. Victoria is great on the 5 cent piece though.

Thanks Badpenny, I am a bit surprised by the results. #2 is the favorite. Hummmm.

I'll keep the polls opened for a few more days.

I wonder if you could cross-reference the results of your poll with the demographics of those who participated... I would bet that a large majority of us are children of the late 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, and #2 was the obverse on the coins we grew up with... food for thought...

I think SPP-Ottawa is on to something. I voted from # 2 as it was the one I remembered when I was growing up. Child of the 70s after all.
