Would anyone happen to know the mintage figure of the first NORFED $10 silver round? The closest I could find was "a few thousand." I am seeking a more exact figure. Thanks in advance.

I doubt that question could ever be answered.
I'm sure they never kept records of how many they minted.
Most likely a lot more than just a few thousand though.

I think I read in a Coin World that the Govt could confiscate those coins if they wanted to also. I know they told one guy that was wanting to display a whole set of them at a coin show for educational purposes they they would be confiscated if he did. You used to be able to keep these type of things for education but not these coins for some reason, they seem to be trying to wipe them completely off the planet

fmtaxguy, there were around 3000 minted according to a close friend of Bernard von Nothaus. They were minted from Oct 1998 to Dec 1998. They changed the reverse for fear most people would be baffled/confused by the symbols on it, and it would'nt catch on. Here's a link with a little info on the subject. Copy and paste to your search bar.

Hope this helps you.
