Very nice coins bobby. Can't wait to see how the dirty ones come out. I think it's great seeing you focus on a particular genre in Roman coin collecting, unlike collector's like me that are all over the place (but I'm trying to narrow it down some). And yeah, I'm going to try to stop buying until after Xmas, since I finally bought my most sought-after coin. Can't wait till it arrives Again, nice coins!

WOW is the only word that comes to mind. Ugly or not, those are fantastic and the price can't be beat. The last coin you have listed is coming from across the Atlantic. From where? If here in the U.S., I've had some problems time wise with coins from Europe, so you will just have to be patient. Just like me (I'm biting my nails for the coins from Portugal, Spain, and Australia). Great coins all.. And I love the tray. Is that one you already had, or did you buy more? Looks like a very nice way to store and display our little babies.

Yep - the last coin is from PA USA, the seller is a good one so I can only assume customs and the ever slower postal services on both sides of the pond are causing the delay. The tray is a sample from the guy I bought a wooden coin box from, the same guy you linked to on Amazon earlier this week JW (see below), they are excellent quality, as good if not better than the Linder / Lighthouse ones. They also have plastic covered bottoms and a removable clear lid. Unfortunately they dont do all the sizes I need (nothing Ant size!) so I may have to settle for the brighter red Lindner ones (got 6 arriving this week to try out). The box is also OK, the quality is not fantastic but its got a nice 'hand-made' vintage look to it. Ancients look great in velvet and wood The main thing was the price was right - I need / want 5 of these for various areas I'm collecting and prices for that could get daft! I'll update my thread in 'suplies' once I've got all price info etc in-case anyone else is interested in them. I'd def recommend picking a single coin or emperor and putting a bit of focus on it Jango, I've learnt a lot doing this and its helped me in other areas, be prepared to become obsessed though so pick cheapish plentiful coins, there are plenty of types to choose from. Quote: Ugly or not, those are fantastic and the price can't be beat. They are pretty good, they were such good deals you doubt the seller will actually send them! notice I didn't post the last few coins prices, sadly I did not do as well with those

Thanks for the tip bobby. Right now I'm looking for any coin with decent to very good detail and/or that captures my interest, for the right prices of course. I'm especially interested in the radiates of the 3rd century, anything from the 1st, and late 4th and 5th century coins.

I started with the radiates of the 3rd century too Jango Its quite a good place to start, you can pick up good quality coins of about 20 concurrent Emperors very cheaply (as long as you ignore the usurpers of which there are many!), its not till you start venturing earlier than Gordian III that the prices star to rise, you also get to dip into the Gallic and Britannic Empires!

OK bobbyhelmet, I tried to find the thread regarding the inserts, but couldn't place my finger on it. Tell me again where you got the display case and inserts. I'm totally jealous and want to do something like this for my coins.

Before I commit to buying this cabinet, where did you buy from and how many coins per tray per cabinet? I thought you said you bought this from a retailer in the US, but I can only find it in the UK. It does make the coins stand out, eh? Impressive looking and much better then my three ring binders. I wonder if there is a place to put a coin attribution card without taking away from the overall appearance?
