found another one of these, exactly like the first, same year/mint mark, even the same toning.

I am confident that it is not a doubled die and I also feel that it is not a die clash, though Kennedy's ear can come into play in that area. I believe that Mike is on the right track with it being some sort of die dent and since he is the lead expert in errors, it would behoove you to send it to him.
