Estate Sale Coins.. Are These Worth A Second Look?

SDcoinguy Pillar of the Community United States 2424 Posts	Posted 11/10/2011 5:51 pm i receive weekly updates from an estate sale company and this week they have some coins. they posted prices too. please let me know if these would be worth picking up. also nice to know what you guys put the values at. 1857 FEC -$25 1873 3 cent piece $18 NO PIC 1903 something...guy said phillipines 1852 Large cent no price 1808 Silver dollar $65 not sure if its real.. no pics of reverse =/ various morgans and peace from $38-42 xf-BU said he had a 1904 and an 1882-S, but he did not know the other MM's off hand. by your eyes, let me know which you would pick up Edited by SDcoinguy 11/10/2011 5:56 pm Report this Post to the Staff

I think the prices are reasonable, assuming there is no hidden damage and they are all authentic, but there's really no way to tell without seeing them up close and personal. The 1903 is not problem-free, the large cent is cleaned, and the flying eagle is a fairly low grade - although I might see a broken wing tip indicating a snow #. Report this Post to the Staff
mariospaghetti Valued Member United States 421 Posts	Posted 11/11/2011 2:52 pm I like the Morgan's and Peace dollars. I tend to stray away from things that I don't know too much about. I agree the fec is a low grade, but if it is a broken wing tip it would be better. I have seen better raw 1852 large cents for $8-15 Bucks. Good luck and let us know what you did buy.
